Poem: An Amazing Word
AN AMAZING WORD
By Mary Nida Smith ©
I love the word “thanks.”
It makes me feel special.
When I say thanks,
I hope this person feels special.
Thanks be to God in heaven
For the thoughtfulness of others
For families that stay in touch
That cries and laughs together.
Thanks for the freedom
To play and speak freely
Thanks for the miracles of the seasons.
Numerous thanks to be given,
Only God can promptly record.
And thanks to Mary Nida Smith!
As I read your poem it occurred to me that
this would make a fine benediction. You remind
us of so many reasons why we should be thankful

Past Memories.
I had a wonderful day: Marie picked up groceries and I continue to work in the art room. Authors from my past are popping up. Robin Lee Hatcher who writes Christian novels from Boise, Idaho. Tonight while watching a Hallmark movie I was surprise to see it was from one of Debbie Macomber"s Christmas stories. She lives at Port Orchard, Washington where I wrote a column for their paper. I was invited to her slumber party to celebrate her latest book (1987). Maybe, God is sending memories from my past since I am not moving forward to enjoy.
