AN AMAZING WORD

I love the word “thanks.”

It makes me feel special.

When I say thanks,

I hope this person feels special.

 

Thanks be to God in heaven

For the thoughtfulness of others

For families that stay in touch

That cries and laughs together.

 

Thanks for the freedom

To play and speak freely

Thanks for the miracles of the seasons.

Numerous thanks to be given,

Only God can promptly record.

 

 

And thanks to Mary Nida Smith!

As I read your poem it occurred to me that

this would make a fine benediction. You remind

us of so many reasons why we should be thankful
