BLOSSOMS OF LIFE
    © by Mary Nida Smith

The little dogwood
Each year blossomed.
Blossoms of hope
sharing with the world
located by a chair
with watchful eyes,
busy controlling a dreamer
behind a window in view.
The dreamer begged to breathe
life into her creations
and the little dogwood
viewed from her window
stood silent, no moisture.
Their pleads fell on deaf ears.
Slowly, the little dogwood died.
The dreamer slowly
closed the door
allowing dreams to fade.
Without nourishment
 and tender care
blossoms of life
withers and painfully dies.
