FREE VERSE POETRY GROUP CD

 This the next best thing to a book. I wrote and read two of my poems. We as members of the Free Verse Poetry Group are proud of our latest CD. 

 

 

The Free Verse Group of Mountain Home announces the release of their second audio compilation of original poetry. 'DRIFTWOOD'. The production features 32 original poems

by 16 area poets. The groups first CD 'EXPRESSIONS'(2008) sold-out, and is in its 2nd printing.

 

May, the group awarded a scholarship to a graduating Senior [Colleen Queary - MHHS -'13], using profits from 'EXPRESSIONS' sales. Future profits from sale of both CD's are designated to
perpetuate the annual scholarship. Providing individualized instrumental accompaniment for each track, 'DRIFTWOOD' producer Ron Miller also edited, and contributed artistically to the
project. Windsong Press's Alathea Daniels provided the cover design, and insert - which includes poet's biographies.
    'DRIFTWOOD' subject matter, as eclectic as the poem's writers, ranges from - days with grandchildren, the pain of patriotism, cultural musings, senility, and - as might be expected . . . an overtone of admiration for nature. To learn more, or to purchase [@ $10.00 apiece]

I am working on two books - a non-fiction WWII book for teens and a free verse poetry book. If God's willing and I stay focused, it will be a good year.

I am trying to stay focus where I get more book/story manuscripts
and poems submitted this year. Below is a list of picture book manuscripts I have finished and I am submitting to publishers.

For each manuscript I am putting together discussion sheets, website information, books and other interaction information for parents, librarians, and teachers. They will be placed on a website to be down loaded when a manuscript is published.

Smith will be appearing at the “Local Author Book Sale and
Signing,” December 4, 1:00-4:00 p.m., at the Donald W. Reynolds
Library, Mountain Home, AR.
Sharing a table with her will be children’s illustrator Carole
Tormey Jones of the “Cotter Otter” fame and the future children book
series “Tales from Sun-E-Dale Knoll” written and illustrated by Jones.
Two of her “Cotter Otter” prints can be found hanging in
the children’s library at Donald W. Reynolds Library and at
Toll House Antiques & Gifts in Cotter.
